Overview
Without context, Claude treats every conversation like a first meeting. With you.md, it knows your role, your voice, your recurring people, your house rules. The lift is dramatic and compounds across every interaction.
What goes in you.md
Five answers, in plain English:
• Who are you, in one paragraph?
• What do you do, specifically?
• Who are the recurring people, projects, and clients in your life?
• What's your voice — three words for what you sound like, three for what you don't?
• What's the one thing you wish Claude would always remember without being told?
How to make it load every conversation
Option A: paste a one-liner at the start of each session — "Read /Claude/you.md first."
Option B: create a Claude Project, attach you.md as project context. Every conversation in that project auto-loads it. No re-pasting.
What changes
Before: Claude answers like it's the first time. Generic. Bland.
After: Claude answers in your voice. It remembers the people you keep mentioning. The lift compounds across the day, then across the week, then across the year.
