About Us

About On The Ground

AI-powered applications for modern businesses in Singapore.

Our mission

Build practical, AI-powered web applications for SMEs, professional service firms, and social-impact organisations. Every app is tailored to a specific operational challenge — reducing admin load, improving client experience, or surfacing insights from data teams already have.

We work primarily with the Claude AI ecosystem and modern web infrastructure. Apps are typically built in days to weeks, not months — and handed over with full documentation and optional training.

Present

Today

Numerous projects delivered across legal services, HR, social impact, government, finance, and manufacturing. Building practical AI-powered apps for modern businesses.

Who we serve

Knowledge-Intensive Businesses

Law firms, accounting practices, consulting firms — where expertise is the product and documentation is heavy.

Digital Transformation Teams

Teams with repetitive processes that can be systematised — forms, databases, reports, analytics, approval workflows.

Our philosophy on automation

We work with organisations that see automation as a way to amplify their team’s capabilities — not reduce headcount.

  • Improve productivity so their team can handle higher-value work
  • Serve more clients without burning out existing staff
  • Free up time for strategic thinking, relationships, and expertise
  • Grow revenue and impact while maintaining or growing their team

If your primary goal is to reduce headcount rather than multiply capability, we’re likely not the right fit.

Our values

Real Problems First

We build for actual pain points, not technology trends.

Fast Iteration

Launch prototypes in days, improve based on real feedback.

Transparent Approach

Clear communication, honest timelines, no hidden surprises.

Haojun See

Founder & Director, On The Ground · Singapore

Haojun is the founder and director of On The Ground. He works with Singapore SMEs, professional service firms, and social-impact organisations to design and deploy AI applications that solve specific business problems — not generic AI strategies, but working software in the hands of real teams.

OTG started in July 2023 as a consulting practice — Haojun solving operational problems for Singapore SMEs and professional service firms, one engagement at a time. The shape of the work changed twice. From July 2024, automation became central: stringing together no-code platforms to ship working tools in days rather than weeks. From January 2026, the practice went all-in on building with Claude AI directly, which is where OTG sits today — delivering numerous production applications across legal tech, education, social services, recruitment, and finance, and running ‘vibe coding’ workshops for law firms and schools.

The toolchain reflects that evolution. From July 2024, OTG delivered apps by stringing together no-code platforms — Lovable and Base44 for the front end, Make.com and Zapier for orchestration and integrations — which made one-week sprints possible without writing infrastructure from scratch. From January 2026, the stack got leaner: Haojun builds directly on Vercel using Claude, then adds capability through specific tools’ APIs (Anthropic, OpenAI, Resend, Supabase, etc.). The result is software that can be reasoned about, audited, and extended without lock-in to any single no-code vendor.

Before OTG, Haojun was Chief Operating Officer at SG Assist, where he directed operations for the Age+ Living Lab — an initiative engaging 80+ partner organisations and 2,000+ community members on caregiving, ageing, and assistive technology. He continues to advise SG Assist as a consultant. Earlier roles include Senior Manager / Head of Engagement at SGTech (managing three teams supporting 1,300+ member companies on digitalisation, government affairs, and industry programmes), Senior Assistant Director at MTI Academy (curriculum on digital and green economy), and Gifted Education Officer at MOE HQ. He started his career as a Chemistry lecturer at Catholic Junior College, where he pioneered full-subject Team-Based Learning at JC level (MOE Innergy Award, 2017).

He holds a Master in Public Policy from NUS Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (Valedictorian, Class President 2020-21) and a B.Sc. (Hons) in Chemistry from Imperial College London (MOE Overseas Teaching Scholarship). Recent speaking engagements include the GovTech Inclusive Design Conversations, the NUS-Tembusu Forum on Hidden Communities, and the National Education Symposium at Hwa Chong Institution — see upcoming talks for what’s next. He serves as IT Secretary on the board of SingYouth Hub (appointed via the NVPC Charity BoardMatch programme).
