Schema.org Article — for blog posts.
The minimum schema every blog post needs. Author, dates, headline.
Overview
Article schema is the bread-and-butter for blog posts. It gives Google + AI engines the author, the publish date, and the modified date — all of which feed ranking and citation.
The required fields
headline (matches your H1), author (Person), datePublished, dateModified. Without these you're just publishing HTML.
Why dateModified matters
AI engines weight fresher content higher. Update dateModified whenever you meaningfully revise a post — it signals the post is maintained.
Common mistakes
Author as a string instead of a Person object. Missing publisher. Date in the wrong format (use ISO 8601: 2026-06-06).
