Overview

Calendar prep is the second-most-useful connector after Gmail. Once it's live, Claude can pull from your schedule for meeting briefings, weekly audits, and proactive flagging of overloaded days. Setup is 3 minutes.

Setup steps

Open Claude.ai → connector icon → Google Calendar → authorise. Pick the same Google account you connected Gmail to (or a different one if work and personal are separate). Read-only access is fine for most workflows. Add write access if you want Claude to create events for you.

The first useful prompt

"Look at my calendar for the next 7 days. Tell me which days are over 60% meetings, which meetings I should prep for now, and where there's a clear 2-hour deep-work block." This single prompt diagnoses your week in 30 seconds. Run it Monday mornings and you'll never be surprised by Tuesday again.

The meeting prep prompt

"I have a meeting with [person] at [time] about [topic]. Pull from past emails with them, calendar events that mention them, and Drive docs about them or the topic. Give me 3 facts, 2 questions, and the line I should be ready with."
