Vercel + Namecheap stack1 min read
Why we teach Namecheap (and not Cloudflare DNS).
Namecheap is the simplest registrar to teach. Cloudflare's DNS is great too — but we stay narrow.
Overview
Cloudflare DNS is excellent. We don't teach it because we want CW-2 attendees to walk out with one stack working, not three.
The Namecheap pick
Cheap (.com starts at ~$8/year), simple admin UI, clear nameserver UI, generous free Whois privacy. Picks up almost any TLD.
Cloudflare DNS is also good
If you already use Cloudflare for DNS, you can keep it. The Namecheap → Vercel walkthrough adapts — same idea, slightly different UI.
Migrating later is easy
If you want to move DNS from Namecheap to Cloudflare in 6 months, it takes 30 minutes. Don't burn the workshop day on it.
PreviousVercel SSL is automatic — and why that matters.Next Buying a .com on Namecheap — what to skip.
