When Claude Cowork beats Claude Code (and vice versa).
Two great tools, two audiences. Here's the honest test for which one is for you.
Overview
Most Cowork users don't need Claude Code. Some absolutely do. Knowing which you are saves a day of effort or unlocks a year of leverage.
Stay with Cowork if
• Your work output is documents, emails, decks, spreadsheets, conversations.
• You don't have ambitions to build software or websites.
• You're already getting the productivity lift you wanted from Cowork.
Add Claude Code if
• You want a real business or personal website without paying an agency.
• You have a small internal tool idea that would save your team hours per week.
• You want your work indexable on the open web with proper SEO/AEO/GEO.
The honest test
"If I had a working website on a real domain this Friday, would my business be measurably different in 90 days?"
Yes → Claude Code is for you. No → stay with Cowork; you'll get more from going deeper on the workflows you already have than from adding a new tool you won't use.
