When Claude Cowork beats Claude Code (and vice versa).
Two great tools, two audiences. Here's the honest test for which one is for you.
Overview
Most CW-1 alumni don't need Claude Code. Some absolutely do. Knowing which you are saves a workshop day or unlocks a year of leverage.
Stay with Cowork if
• Your work output is documents, emails, decks, spreadsheets, conversations.
• You don't have ambitions to build software or websites.
• You're already getting the productivity lift you wanted from Cowork.
Add Code (CW-2) if
• You want a real business or personal website without paying an agency.
• You have a small internal tool idea that would save your team hours per week.
• You want your work indexable on the open web with proper SEO/AEO/GEO.
The honest test
"If I had a working website on a real domain this Friday, would my business be measurably different in 90 days?"
Yes → CW-2 is for you. No → stay with Cowork; you'll get more from going deeper on the workflows you already have than from adding a new tool you won't use.
