The minimum setup for a solo. Verify, submit sitemap, set alerts. 15 minutes once.
Overview
Search Console is free, official, and tells you what Google sees on your site. For solo founders, the 15-minute setup is non-negotiable.
Verify your domain
Add a Domain property (not URL prefix). Verify via DNS TXT record at Vercel (since Vercel hosts your DNS).
Submit your sitemap
Sitemaps → enter
sitemap.xml → Submit. Google crawls within 24 hours.Set alerts
Settings → Email preferences → enable indexing and coverage alerts. You'll get an email the moment something breaks.
