Towkay Talks is a series for Singapore business owners, run by Recruit Fast, On The Ground and Grow Connections with support from the Skills & Workforce Development Agency (SWDA). Series 5, "AI, Efficiency & Career Growth — Future-Proof, Not Fearful", took on the question every employer is wrestling with: how do we grow with AI, not despite it?
Haojun See, founder of On The Ground, shared what he sees building AI tools and running AI training for SMEs. His main argument: start with the business problem, not with "doing AI". Owners should learn the tools themselves before handing them to the team, and should present AI as a way to go after more business, not a way to need fewer people. He was joined by Walter Silvester, Managing Director of Silvester Legal LLC.
The session covered how to ease the manpower crunch with AI, real case studies from employers using AI, and how to build a culture of learning and upskilling.
