Joining Little U's Guest Speaker Series — 4 July

Little U's Guest Speaker Series is a monthly career-guidance session for youths and their families — pitched at a level a 15-year-old can follow, but open to curious learners of any age. Each session pairs a 20-minute personal story with 40 minutes of audience Q&A, so guests leave with a real sense of what a career actually involves, not just the highlight reel.

Haojun will share his own path: starting as Senior Assistant Director at the Ministry of Trade and Industry, then over five years at SG Assist across roles from Chief Strategy Officer to Chief Operating Officer, before founding On The Ground in 2023. The throughline across all three chapters is the same — policy, systems thinking, and a focus on getting things actually working on the ground.

The core idea he'll unpack: the barrier to building with technology isn't technical, it's psychological. Once people realise they can build, everything changes — including how they think about a public-service or builder career path.
