IET Singapore: AI & Vibe Coding for Engineering

Haojun joined IET Singapore Local Network on 5 Aug to demonstrate vibe-coding with Claude — building real tools without a CS degree.

IET Singapore Local Network ran a free evening session on practical AI adoption for engineers, co-presented with Kenny Tay (CEO, Singapore A.I. Association, and founder of AI49 International Group), in person at the Singapore Polytechnic Graduates' Guild.

Haojun's session, "Vibe Coding for Engineers," introduced the principles of vibe coding and showed how Claude lets engineers build practical tools without writing code from scratch. Through real-world examples, he demonstrated how Claude Code and Claude Cowork turn everyday workflow problems into working prototypes within minutes — no prior programming experience required. Haojun holds a Master in Public Policy from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, NUS, and a BSc in Chemistry from Imperial College London. A former Ministry of Education educator, he's now a practitioner-trainer specialising in practical AI adoption, prompt engineering, and vibe-coding using Anthropic's Claude ecosystem — helping organisations build prototypes and deploy tools that improve operational efficiency.
