Overview
Vercel's Hobby (free) tier is generous enough that most people never need to upgrade. Here's what you get and when you'd outgrow it.
What's included
• Unlimited deploys (commercial use restricted to personal projects, but marketing sites for your business count if you're solo).
• 100 GB bandwidth per month.
• Free SSL on every domain.
• Preview deployments for every commit.
• Edge functions with reasonable limits.
When you'd outgrow it
Bandwidth is the main one. If you blow past 100 GB/month, you have a real audience problem — a good problem. Upgrade to Pro ($20/mo) at that point.
What to avoid on the free tier
Heavy serverless functions (long-running tasks). Free tier has time limits. For background jobs, use a dedicated worker service.
